B and Joe D'Esposito

Saturday Night - 8:15pm to 9:00pm @ La Luz Mexican Grill | All Ages

raw, moving, eclectic.
17 year old B is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist committed to making change through music. B loves performing live and collaborating with other artists and has joined Chris Thile, Amos Lee, Amy Speace, Mary Gauthier, Langhorne Slim, Aoife O’Donovan, David Grisman, Sarah Jarosz, Sierra Hull and many others on stage multiple times. B plays a unique mix of folk, classical, jazz, and contemporary acoustic music. Says Mary Gauthier, "B is a brilliant young songwriter whose music moves me. I’ve watched B develop a deep understanding of the songwriting craft over many years. I am excited to watch this young artist’s music move out into the world and work it’s magic on people’s hearts. Give a listen, you’ll be glad you did.”

B will be releasing an EP of all original songs this summer produced by sought-after Nashville based producer Neilson Hubbard, along with a series of music videos made in collaboration with professional contemporary dance company, The Schiff Dance Collective. The songs on the EP address many important and timely issues from gun violence, to the refugee situation, to what it is like to be queer in today's America. B has seen first hand and around the world the incredible capacity of music to heal, unify and create change and loves sharing music with others. "I’ve had the great privilege to play with some incredible musicians in my life. Rarely have I come across one who is both virtuosic and profoundly raw and soulful at the same time. I don’t think many people are given either, let alone both. B’s got it and has ever since we met when B was nine!” Says Langhorne Slim. “ It’s mind blowing to watch, spiritually elevating to play along with, and damn exciting to see what this incredible human has in store for us all. B is all heart. To me, B stands for badass and I’m honored and proud to call that badass my friend."

Joe D’Esposito started playing violin at the age of seven and as a young teen, studied with Earl Maneein, a multi genre violinist whose projects include classical chamber music, jazz, bluegrass, and metal.

Joe was raised in a musical family that gave him constant exposure to American jazz, Celtic, rock, bluegrass, and classical performances, in a family band setting. These experiences fostered a love for performance in a wide variety of genres.

Joe went on to study violin and music education at Ithaca College under Susan Waterbury. It was in Ithaca, NY where doors began to open for Joe with Celtic, bluegrass, and contemporary string band music. He continually strives to expand the reach of music and education to those not ordinarily lucky enough to have it as part of their lives.

Outside of his collaboration with B, Joe is a Denver-based music educator and collaborator. His education background has opened doors for him as a teacher with Denver’s community musical school, Swallow Hill; His work for the music school includes group lessons, as well as work with many of the outreach programs, that Swallow Hill’s non-profit, community engagement component are based upon. He also frequently performs and composes with Boulder based band, The Railsplitters, and the Freewheel Trio based out of Denver and New York City.
