Well, if you're 18 or over and volunteer for one or more shifts (4+ hours) and attend one training, the benefits to YOU are that you get: a FREE wristband for FoCoMX ($35 value), and a delightfully soft and sexy volunteer t-shirt. But we truly believe the benefits go beyond that. You become part of the fabric of the Fort Collins Musicians Association community, a community dedicated to the mission of supporting our local talent above all else. We literally CAN NOT do this festival without you, and as we all know, local bands don't become national bands without strong grassroots support.

If children are attending the festival itself and going to venues, they do need a wristband no matter how young they are, as they would still be counted towards legal occupancy at the venues. Wristbands are required for all venues, including all-ages venues, the museum, and, any non-childrens' programming. Wristbands for children are the same price as those for adults because, as part of our mission, we're trying to pay the artists fairly for playing.

There is one venue for family programming that will be free during the first part of Saturday, no wristbands required, which is at Everyday Joe's. Please see the artist schedule for more information on the family programming.

Sign up online NOW!  Grab your shift early for the best choice. Some shifts become yours right away, some require supervisor approval.... For approval-required shifts, we'll email you. Keep scrolling down in the FAQ if you need more detailed sign-up steps. Email volunteer@focoma.org with questions.

Read your CONFIRMATION EMAIL carefully. There are two main kinds of positions: No-approval-required, and approval-required.

If you sign up for a no-approval-required shift, IT'S YOURS and we'll be expecting to see you at one of our pre-festival trainings. Please put us in your calendar, because we really, really need you!!

If you sign up for an approval-required shift (On the schedule, it will have said: "This position requires approval by our Volunteer Coordinator. Please apply below by clicking "Sign Up!" and we will be in touch soon.") Give us up to 72 hours to catch our breath and we'll either call you with additional questions or approve you! Either way, we will let you know when we are OFFICIAL. Thank you!!

(There are also a few positions that we schedule behind the scenes, reserved for sponsors, partners and board members, but those require direct communication between you and volunteer@focoma.org).

FoCoMX volunteer trainings (only one is required) will be Sunday, 4/15 (11:00a-1230p) and Saturday, April 21 (11:30-1p).

FoCoMA would like to thank The Music District for loaning us space for the trainings, at the Music District, 639 S. College, just northwest of Laurel and College. We are meeting in the main Music District building (that faces College but the main entrance is on the back / parking lot side looking out at Alley Cat.)  Parking is limited; we suggest walking/biking or trying the adjacent blocks around Myrtle.

Wristbands are on sale NOW through the Thursday, before the festival on the Tickets page! Or you can pay cash between April 2nd and the Thursday before the festival at Rock ‘N’ Robin’s.

(Or get one for free by becoming one of our volunteers!)

Wristbands purchased online will be available at the ticket sales / Will Call booth at Art Lab in Old Town at 239 Linden St. during FoCoMX.

The following places will sell tickets DURING the festival:

  • The Will Call booth in Old Town, at Art Lab at 239 LInden St, will be open Friday and Saturday from noon to 11 PM, taking cash or credit card payments. Will Call is also the only place during the festival to pick up wristbands you purchased online.

  • A limited number of  other cash physical wristband sales locations may be available, but Will Call is always your best bet with the most payment options.

Credit and debit cards will of course work online.

Cash or credit/debit cards are accepted at Will Call during the festival.

Only cash will be accepted for wristbands at Rock 'N' Robin's (April 1-Thursday before the festival), or at the door of the limited number of venues selling wristbands during FoCoMX.

Please don't count on it! We sell wristbands at only a couple of our outlying venues, but there is always a chance that venue will run out of the very short supply they are given.

We recommend you buy your wristband before the festival, or during FoCoMX at Will Call (cash or credit).

Want a free wristband?

Please note that you CANNOT pick up your Will Call wristband at the door of any venue. Will Call in Old Town is the only place during the festival to get a wristband purchased online. Open noon-11pm both Friday and Saturday.

YES! Your wristband is what gets you in the door at all the venues for both nights. They’re made of a durable cloth, can be worn for multiple days, and will even survive in the shower.

The wristband allows you entry to any venue that is participating in FoCoMX. It is not a guaranteed entry however, as maximum occupancy of venues are enforced by the city fire marshal. If there is a particular show you want to see, we encourage you to arrive at that venue early to ensure your entry.

See the Venues page for a listing of venues and their age restrictions. This information is also available in the Schedule for each event.

The Will Call booth in Old Town will be open from 12:00 PM - 11:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday.

Will Call will be set up at Art Lab in Old Town at 239 Linden St. in Old Town. Will Call is the only place during the festival to get a wristband purchased online.

Fans can get free wristbands by volunteering at FoCoMX.

LOCATION CHANGE! We are kickin' it old school for Year 10. Volunteer Headquarters (VHQ)  at ART LAB, 239 Linden St., in Old Town, next to Cozzola's. Please come about 30 minutes IN ADVANCE of your shift start time. At this time you will check in for your shift, possibly grab the venue tub for your shift, and get your wristband.

Also, if you are working Saturday but want to see bands on Friday, you will come to headquarters (Art Lab) on Friday to get your wristband early. If this is the case, you must leave a $20 deposit which you can get back from us on Saturday.

The following instructions apply any time after the annual web/artist lineup/volunteer schedule launch in March.

Things should be mostly the same whether you're on a PC, Mac, tablet or phone. Here are the basic steps:

  • Start on the Volunteer page.
  • If you're not signed in, you will see a top banner that says "Join the FoCoMX volunteer army!"
  • Sign in. Click Step 1: Log in or create a new user account. Some data gets purged from year to year. First try resetting your password, and if we can't find a login for you, you may need to create another account.
  • You might WANT to start browsing shifts, but don't just yet! Make sure to proceed to Step 2: Set up your volunteer profile. Fill out the short form with your name, email, phone and t-shirt size. If you skip this step, you can SEE available shifts, but you won't get the Sign Up button.
  • Click Step 3: Sign up for a shift! You'll see the list of available volunteer shifts.
  • Click to read the description of a shift, and if the requirements work for you, scroll to the bottom. If you've done steps 1 and 2 above, you will see a Sign Up link. Click it! One more confirmation screen and you're done.
  • You should get an automated email confirming your sign-up. Some positions are yours right away, some require supervisor approval. The shift description as well as the email you get will tell you which kind you selected.

That should be all! Can you sign up for more than one shift? You bet! Can you manage any approved shifts online? Yes, as long as you signed up online and were approved, manage shifts using your login! If you get to the list of shifts from somewhere else on the site, will the system still know if you're logged in or if you filled out your volunteer form? Yup. If you're still having a bad technology day, will anybody help you? Sure! Email volunteer@focoma.org and we'll get back to you. Might be right away, might be a day or two. Life can get busy. Thanks for being there for the music!
