Check for valid FoCoMX wristbands at the venue door. Inform patrons without a wristband where they can purchase. Communicate any abnormalities to the shift supervisor via phone or text.
Other volunteers at the same venue (emcees or production assistants) should locate and introduce themselves to you so that your shift supervisor has a single point of contact.
Note: Most venues have only one door/wristband volunteer per shift. Larger venues have a second (Head) door/wristband volunteer. In that case, your Head door/wristband volunteer will be the point of contact for the shift supervisor.
You will be responsible (if shift is first-in-day) for obtaining the venue tub (which contains critical volunteer info) during check-in at Volunteer HQ. The door volunteer that works the last shift of the day should return the tub to volunteer HQ at the end of the night.
Note: Volunteers will never be responsible for ID checks for alcohol consumption; that is the venue’s responsibility.
