Drifters Heart, the 4th studio album from Ryan Dart, is a collection of 13 original songs. This recording showcases his earnest and heartfelt songwriting stepped down to its core and presented honestly. Although it’s a departure from his previous offerings, it still retains the theme consistent throughout Ryan’s music-genuine lyrics, vivid imagery, and an authentic take on American music.
Recorded in Austin, TX and Boulder, CO, many of the tunes on Drifters Heart were first or second takes, with a few even written in the studio. The stripped down, acoustic vibe of this album reflects a lot of what Ryan’s live shows are all about - a salt of the earth storyteller armed with his guitar and his songs, one truth at a time.
With 2017’s “Pain, Love, and Drought" he delivered heartfelt yet heartbreaking stories of Love, loss, and hard working farm life. Ryan draws inspiration from his years in the studio and touring with Rose Hill Drive, Ryan Bingham, and J. Mascis as well as his "day job" as a farmer in Berthoud, CO.
